Our Ocean School Faculty Teacher- Pookoya (Iyyakoya) brings a broad range of Marine interests and research activities through his real lifetime experiences associated with the Ocean,His wisdom is used as a Story Telling method lesson plan and class sessions to the Marine Biology outdoors program through his mentorship .

Over 32 students from the School JBS East participated in the interactive Ocean class.

The Iyyakoya detailed his expedition to Suheli during 70s in a small country craft.Shared his experience on navigation using stars, traditional fishing techniques and the marine organisms common identifying features by the locals, fishing using the sea birds flocks..etc ..Importance of sea cucumbers,sea grass and many other wonderful species of the lagoon were outlined
at Palalam Resort.
